New Entries in Yale Oldest Truck Competition

Yale’s oldest operating truck competition is gathering pace as companies across Europe highlight Yale trucks that continue to operate after many years of service.

We were delighted last week to have received three entries in quick succession from France, Germany and Switzerland.

French company Micro Meca is a specialist in precision and mechanical engineering. It’s 1970 Yale truck has served the company every day for the past 40 years transporting pallets of iron, mechanical parts and other industrial equipment.

Gebruder Munzert in Germany has been producing fabrics and clothing material since 1925 and although its Yale forklift is not quite that old, it has been used in the warehouse to lift bales and cartons with its special attachment daily, despite being 37 years old.

Swiss firm M. Knoepfli AG is a leader in power shift transmission, torque converters, marine gearboxes and gears for locomotives, construction equipment and industrial vehicles. Its 36 year old Yale K51 electric forklift truck is used daily on site.

All entries into the competition can be viewed at www.forliftaction.com/yaleoldesttruck and the competition is still open for entries. Operators of Yale forklift trucks over 20 years old can submit a picture of their pictures on the web site or can email a description to yaleeurope@yale.com.
All entries received will be awarded a Yale die cast scale model of the latest Yale lift truck. The entrant submitting the oldest truck will win a trip to New York*.

* Prize will consist of £900 or €985 holiday vouchers for winner to spend on a trip to New York or an alternative destination of their choice.
